Module 8 – Canvas LMS

Canvas Learning Management System

The micro lesson that I worked on this week was about vector and raster images. It goes over the basics of what is a vector and a raster image and when each one should be used.

I used a couple of different forms of AI for this lesson. First, I used a site called Genially to help me create my presentation slides. I used Google Gemini to help me create the text to narrate by providing it with all of the slide information first. After it outputted the narration text for me, I used ElevenLabs to create a text to speech and have a narrator go over each slide in a little bit more detail. The entire presentation is interactive so the user will go through each slide at their own pace. They can mute the audio if that is preferred as well.

In terms of accessibility, I added audio not only as narration, but just as an option for people who might only be able to listen to the presentation and not see it.

This was my first time using Canvas to create a course so it took a little bit for me to learn my way around including watching some short YouTube videos to learn how to do certain things. I can see myself using this in the future if I end up working in an academic setting.
