Print Production Guidelines Custom GPT
For my custom GPT, I decided to focus on print production guidelines. My goal was to create a tool that allows someone to provide basic information about a project and instantly receive tailored guidelines on how to prepare it for print.
To build it, I compiled guidelines from several print companies I found online, including one with which my company works directly. I asked ChatGPT to treat these as core resources. The setup process turned out to be much easier than I expected—especially since the builder walked me through decisions along the way, prompting me to refine the focus and test outputs as I went.
The results were genuinely helpful. For example, when I tested it with a simple input like “24×36,” it immediately returned proper setup instructions. Then it followed up with clarifying questions—such as whether the print was intended for indoor or outdoor use—to recommend the most suitable materials. This makes it especially valuable for anyone preparing print files who wants to avoid common mistakes.
Overall, custom GPTs have considerable potential. When built thoughtfully, they can be powerful tools that support learning, streamline processes, and even help with hobbies.
