Module 11.2 – Portfolio Asessment

My Portfolio Review

Professionalism

Overall, I think I have a decent start to my portfolio. My Home page introduces myself and the MIST program. After receiving feedback, I’ve gone through and ran all of my text through Grammarly to catch and fix any spelling and grammar mistakes.

Navigation and Functionality

After running through and checking all of my links, they all seem to open to the correct pages. Since none of my pages are particularly long, I decided to keep the navigation on the left side and keep module pages opening in the same tab. Users still shouldn’t have to scroll much to get back to the menu or IST501 page. This might change in the future.

Visual Design

I think I have good start visually, but there are definitely some improvements I’d like to make when I have more time. For example, I think my Module 3.1 page has the strongest layout and I’d like to incorporate something similar in the rest of the pages. I’d also like to incorporate more contrast with working in some different colors, especially with the text and updating some of my buttons to images or cards instead.

Content

Overall, my content seems to be all there. I’ve included a reflection and images/videos into the appropriate module pages. I feel like I can make some of my reflections a little more concise and change som layouts.

Final Suggestions

Since it’s my own portfolio, I’m definitely looking at it with an over-critical perspective so there are several things I’d like to change about it. I’m suggesting to myself to put some extra time into it during the winter break and polish it more into what I’d like it to look like by the end of the MIST program.
