Capstone Idea
For my capstone project idea, I initially started off with trying the idea of standardizing and implementing new methods for onboard training at my current job at Impact XM. I thought about different things that I would’ve have liked to have seen when I got hired. Eventually I found out that this wouldn’t work due to a lack of testers, but this was my initial idea.

Guest Essay (Op-Ed)
For our Guest Essay, we talked about Behaviorism and whether it’s still useful or now. While reading more and more about behaviorism, it’s history, and how it is used today, I became more aware of the fact that it can still be useful and doesn’t have to be an old theory. Instead it can be applied in collaboration with other methods of instructional design.

Diffusion Simulation Activity
For the diffusion simulation activity, I played through the game several times. Initially I did OK in getting several people to adapt but progressively ended up doing worse because of me trying to run through it faster, and making bolder choices.

AI Lesson
For my AI lesson, I created a lesson on teaching the difference between vector and raster graphics. I used several different AI tools including Genially, ElevenLabs, and Gemini. Using these tools was insightful in finding out how much time they can actually save when being used correctly.

Ethical Issues
In our Ethical Issues assignment, we were given a scenario where an instructional technologist finds out a school that struggles with money is using unlicensed software. My team and I talked about what we thought would be the most ethical thing to do and why if we were the ones in that position.

Technological Implementation Challenges
For this discussion post, I simply talked about how we deal with difficulties in technology implementation in my work when it comes to large security updates to our VPN to access company servers. Many times people don’t fully know how to do the updates, leaving us to submit tickets to request help from IT.
